Abstract
This study aims to analyse the way leadership and digital technology usage affect the faculty members’ research performance in surviving higher education sustainability during the COVID-19 pandemic. A breakthrough innovation is needed to design a fast-track online work management system. Hence, it requires a loyal contribution from all the faculty members to support this system. This quantitative study conducted in Malaysia and Indonesia, included 260 faculty members from various fields of studies. Using the online questionnaire, it shows that leadership and technology usage plays an important role to maintain faculty members’ research performance during the pandemic. However, it has a slight difference in result between Malaysia and Indonesia in terms of the portion of leadership and digital technology that affected the research performance. The higher education leaders play a stronger role in affecting Malaysian faculty members’ research performance, while Indonesian faculty members are influenced more by digital technology usage than by their leaders. Each of them has a significant implication in designing the effective institution policies in optimizing faculty members’ research performance.
บทคัดย่อ
การศึกษานี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อวิเคราะห์วิธีการเป็นผู้นําและการใช้เทคโนโลยีดิจิทัลส่งผลกระทบต่อผลการวิจัยของคณาจารย์ในการอยู่รอดอย่างยั่งยืนของอุดมศึกษาในช่วงการแพร่ระบาดของ COVID-19 จําเป็นต้องมีนวัตกรรมที่ก้าวหน้าในการออกแบบระบบการจัดการงานออนไลน์ที่รวดเร็ว ดังนั้นจึงต้องมีการมีส่วนร่วมอย่างภักดีจากคณาจารย์ทุกคนเพื่อสนับสนุนระบบนี้ การศึกษาเชิงปริมาณนี้ดําเนินการในประเทศมาเลเซียและอินโดนีเซียรวมถึงคณาจารย์ 260 คนจากสาขาการศึกษาต่างๆ การใช้แบบสอบถามออนไลน์แสดงให้เห็นว่าการใช้ความเป็นผู้นําและเทคโนโลยีมีบทบาทสําคัญในการรักษาประสิทธิภาพการวิจัยของคณาจารย์ในช่วงการระบาดใหญ่ อย่างไรก็ตามมีความแตกต่างเล็กน้อยในผลระหว่างมาเลเซียและอินโดนีเซียในแง่ของความเป็นผู้นําและเทคโนโลยีดิจิทัลที่มีผลต่อประสิทธิภาพการวิจัย ผู้นําระดับอุดมศึกษามีบทบาทที่แข็งแกร่งในผลกระทบต่อผลงานวิจัยของคณาจารย์ชาวมาเลเซียในขณะที่คณาจารย์ชาวอินโดนีเซีย

Fostering Digital Education among Teachers and Learners in Sri Lankan Schools
Abstract
The Commonwealth Digital Education Leadership Training in Action (C-DELTA) programme provides a framework for fostering digital education for lifelong learning by developing digital education leaders. The Faculty of Education at the Open University of Sri Lanka implemented an action research project to promote the adoption of C-DELTA among teachers and students of secondary schools in Sri Lanka, and evaluate its impact on the teaching-learning process. A group of 41 teachers participated in the intervention and implemented C-DELTA in their schools. A variety of data were collected throughout the process via questionnaires, concept maps, focus group interviews, implementation reports, and log records in the C-DELTA platform. Findings revealed that despite challenges, such as inadequate ICT facilities, time constraints and limitation in English language competencies, the adoption of C-DELTA has supported improving digital literacy, enacting changes in thinking and digital behaviour among teachers and students, and enhancing teachers’ digital education leadership skills.

โครงการอบรมภาวะผู้นําด้านการศึกษาดิจิทัลของเครือจักรภพในการดําเนินการ (C-DELTA) เป็นกรอบในการส่งเสริมการศึกษาดิจิทัลเพื่อการเรียนรู้ตลอดชีวิตโดยการพัฒนาผู้นําด้านการศึกษาดิจิทัล คณะครุศาสตร์มหาวิทยาลัยเปิดศรีลังกาดําเนินโครงการวิจัยเชิงปฏิบัติการเพื่อส่งเสริมการนํา C-DELTA มาใช้ในหมู่ครูและนักเรียนระดับมัธยมศึกษาในศรีลังกาและประเมินผลกระทบต่อกระบวนการสอน กลุ่มครู 41 คนมีส่วนร่วมในการแทรกแซงและใช้ C-DELTA ในโรงเรียนของพวกเขา มีการรวบรวมข้อมูลที่หลากหลายตลอดกระบวนการผ่านแบบสอบถามแผนผังแนวคิดการสัมภาษณ์กลุ่มโฟกัสรายงานการดําเนินการและบันทึกบันทึกในแพลตฟอร์ม C-DELTA ผลการวิจัยเปิดเผยว่าแม้จะมีความท้าทายเช่นสิ่งอํานวยความสะดวกด้าน ICT ที่ไม่เพียงพอข้อ จํากัด ด้านเวลาและข้อ จํากัด ในความสามารถทางภาษาอังกฤษการยอมรับของ C-DELTA ได้สนับสนุนการปรับปรุงความรู้ดิจิทัลออกกฎหมายการเปลี่ยนแปลงในการคิด

Abstract
This article reports on a technology stewardship training program to promote ICT leadership development with agricultural extension practitioners in Sri Lanka. Researchers used a multimethod approach with a single embedded case study. Data were collected using a pre-course survey, formal course evaluation, classroom observation, and semi-structured interviews with participants. Kirkpatrick’s four-level evaluation model was used to structure analysis of the results. Findings from this study show a positive response to technology stewardship training among agricultural extension practitioners in the course, that learning objectives of the course are achievable when offered as an in-service training program, that self-confidence with ICT is improved, and that some participants applied their learning in a post-course activity. Results from the study also raise a number of considerations for future course design in order to better support digital leadership development in practice. Technology stewardship training shows promise as a form of ICT leadership education for agricultural communities of practice in Sri Lanka and elsewhere. This article contributes to a better understanding of the role of social learning among communities of practice in agricultural extension services, and in contributing to effective use of ICT for agriculture development more broadly.
